As you may have noticed, this site was created with the help of AI. I am not very "techy" so Chat was a big help, as was Wix. But I wanted to convey to you what this work is to me and what it may be or could be - for you as well, without the help of chat.
I have been a doing this work for over 30 years working with teens, adults, women, men and couples. Over the last few years, more and more of the discussions in my office - where I believe in and look to actualize the healing experience of talking in a unique way- have turned naturally to sex and intimacy.
Last year I went "back to school" to the School of Sex Therapy and received a Certificate in Psychosexual Therapy. I am currently halfway through the remaining part of the program and will soon be a Certified Sex Therapist through the International Association of Psychosexual Therapists ( IASTP).
I am now focusing my work on women and couples who are in any way struggling with physical intimacy. Of course, emotional intimacy is woven into this work. In particular, if you are a woman who has experienced sexual trauma, unwanted sexual experiences, difficult introductions into the world of their body and their mind and their sexuality, I believe that working together can offer new hope.
The work itself, as much as I try, I can never exactly quantify or qualify. But the unique and meaningful connections, built over time and talking, are always what I circle back to. Some shorter, some longer. Some more framed with technique (EMDR, CBT, IFS, Etc.). But mostly unique relationships and discussions that seem to bring new ideas, heal old ideas, and create something progressive and meaningful. So so many roads and combinations of roads to take along the way. And sex therapy is not so different. I have had to brush up (way up!) on my biology. And that's been great. Its been deepening and meaningful and filled with awe.
I warmly invite you to reach out and am happy to discuss if working with me could be a next right step for you. I also warmly invite you to continue your search for a better, more meaningful sexual experience. There are, BH, so many options available now. Many well trained, skilled and excellent professionals in this field. So much good, accessible information, online, podcasts, webinars.... I will hopefully post some links soon, but in the meantime, they are not so hard to find now. And sometimes those are good next steps as well.
Wishing you the best,
Melissa Groman
